Application Essays
Looking beyond the Personal Statement!
Health professions programs are moving to including more opportunities for applicants to share details of their lives in the application process outside of the personal statement! This includes questions about your "lived experiences," the activities that you are involved in, school specific questions, and more. In this series we touch on a few of the ways in which you can think about how to utilize each opportunity to share more about yourself without repeating information and taking advantage to share about yourself as a whole person.
But don't worry! We haven't forgotten about the Personal Statement! And this is still a significant component of your application. So be sure to watch our Personal Statement Workshop and submit your Personal Statement for review!
We started this series with a new "lived experiences" prompt. While this prompt is specific to MD applications in AMCAS, more health professions programs are incorporating their own version of this essay. You can also now find webinars on the Activities List and how to manage/write your secondary/supplemental/school specific application questions.
